Sulfur

Sulfur is a naturally occurring element with a long history of dermatological use. It exhibits antifungal, antibacterial, and keratolytic activity, making it effective for treating acne, rosacea, and seborrhoeic dermatitis. Its efficacy depends on particle size, with precipitated sulfur (finer particles) outperforming sublimed sulfur. It works synergistically with other anti-acne agents like salicylic acid and sodium sulfacetamide.
