Dimethiconol

Dimethiconol is a thick, high molecular weight silicone (a hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane) that is typically diluted in lighter silicone fluids like dimethicone or cyclopentasiloxane for easier formulation. It functions as an emollient, moisturiser, and antifoaming agent. When applied, it leaves a silky smooth, non-greasy protective film on the skin and hair, providing conditioning and moisture retention without heaviness.
