Rhus Succedanea Fruit Wax (commonly known as Japan Wax) is a natural vegetable wax obtained from the mesocarp (fleshy outer layer) of the fruit of the Rhus succedanea tree, native to East Asia. It is rich in fatty acids, glycerides, esters, and phytosterols, and appears as a soft, pale yellow to off-white wax. It functions as a plant-based alternative to beeswax and synthetic waxes in cosmetic formulations.
