Behenyl Alcohol

Behenyl alcohol is a long-chain fatty alcohol with 22 carbon atoms, derived from natural vegetable oils (rapeseed, coconut). Despite the name, it is not a drying alcohol like ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. Instead, it functions as an emollient, emulsion stabiliser, and viscosity-controlling agent that helps oil and water phases stay blended while giving products a rich, creamy texture.
