Zinc PCA

Zinc PCA is the zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (L-PCA), a compound found naturally in the skin as part of its natural moisturising factor (NMF). It combines the sebum-regulating and antimicrobial properties of zinc with the humectant and bioavailability-enhancing properties of L-PCA. It works by inhibiting the 5-alpha reductase enzyme that drives sebum overproduction, while also suppressing acne-causing bacteria such as Cutibacterium acnes.
