Butyloctyl Salicylate is a multifunctional cosmetic ingredient that functions as a solvent for UV filters, an emollient, and a photostabiliser. It is a low-viscosity liquid with high polarity that can dissolve common UV filters such as oxybenzone and avobenzone, while also stabilising the notoriously unstable UVA filter avobenzone. It provides a cosmetically elegant skin feel with excellent spreadability.
