Formula IngredientAntioxidantINCI: Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol
Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol (also known as Lipochroman-6) is a synthetic chromanol derivative structurally similar to vitamin E. It is a potent antioxidant uniquely capable of protecting against both reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS), which are major contributors to premature skin ageing and cellular damage from UV exposure and pollution.

antioxidant protection, neutralisation of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, anti-ageing, cellular protection, skin brightening
Well tolerated at recommended cosmetic concentrations (0.01–0.05%). No EU CosIng Annex II or III restrictions apply. Products containing this ingredient are commonly formulated for sensitive areas including the eye contour, suggesting a favourable irritation profile.
Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol does not increase photosensitivity. As an antioxidant, it provides indirect photoprotective benefits by neutralising UV-generated free radicals, but it is not a UV filter.
MANUAL REVIEW: No dedicated pregnancy safety assessment for dimethylmethoxy chromanol was found in EWG Skin Deep, MotherToBaby, or CIR databases. It is used at very low concentrations (0.01–0.05%) which limits systemic exposure. Until formal assessment is available, a precautionary Caution rating is applied. Consult a healthcare provider if concerned.
