Formula IngredientFilm FormingINCI: Glyceryl Rosinate
Glyceryl Rosinate is a glycerol ester of rosin (resin acids from pine trees). It functions primarily as a film-forming agent that creates a flexible, adhesive film on the skin or lips, improving product wear and longevity. It is widely used in lip products, wax-based formulations, and adhesive patches. It also has mild perfuming properties.

Glyceryl rosinate is generally well tolerated in cosmetic formulations. No EU CosIng Annex II or III restrictions apply. However, rosin-derived ingredients can cause contact sensitisation in individuals with rosin (colophonium) allergy, which is a relatively common allergen. Patch testing recommended for sensitive individuals.
Glyceryl rosinate does not increase photosensitivity. No sun protection precautions are required.
No known reproductive or developmental toxicity concerns for topical use at cosmetic concentrations. Considered safe during pregnancy.
