Oryza Sativa Bran Oil (rice bran oil) is a fixed oil expressed from the bran of rice (Oryza sativa L., Poaceae). It consists primarily of glycerides of linoleic acid (~30%), oleic acid (~40%), palmitic acid, and stearic acid. It is uniquely rich in gamma-oryzanol (a potent antioxidant), vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols), and phytosterols, making it an excellent skin-nourishing emollient with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Rice bran oil is well tolerated by most skin types. No EU CosIng Annex II or III restrictions apply. Its gentle nature makes it suitable for sensitive skin formulations.
Rice bran oil does not increase photosensitivity. Its gamma-oryzanol content may provide minor antioxidant protection against UV-induced free radicals, but it should not be relied upon as sun protection.
Rice bran oil is a plant-derived oil with no known reproductive or developmental toxicity. Widely considered safe for topical use during pregnancy.
