Diglucosyl Gallic Acid

Diglucosyl gallic acid (DGA) is a biotechnologically created derivative of gallic acid (a benzoic acid compound) in which two glucose molecules are attached to stabilise the active. Upon topical application, beneficial skin microbiota enzymatically convert it into trihydroxybenzoic acid (THBA), its active form. It works across multiple pathways to inhibit tyrosinase (the enzyme responsible for melanin production), neutralise free radicals, and reduce skin inflammation.
