Trihydroxystearin

Trihydroxystearin is a triester of glycerol and 12-hydroxystearic acid, derived from hydrogenated castor oil. It acts as an oil-phase gelling agent capable of thickening both oils and silicones without requiring water, giving formulations a smooth, balm-like or butter texture. It functions simultaneously as a skin-conditioning emollient, leaving a soft, non-greasy feel on the skin.
