Polyisobutene

Polyisobutene is a synthetic polymer of isobutylene (2-methyl-1-propene). It functions as a film-forming agent, viscosity controller, and binding agent in cosmetic formulations. It enhances gloss in lip cosmetics, increases product adhesion and wear longevity, and when combined with emulsifiers creates effective thickening systems. It also provides emollient and moisturising properties.
