Disteardimonium Hectorite

Disteardimonium hectorite is an organically modified clay mineral derived from hectorite (a naturally occurring smectite clay). It is produced by reacting hectorite with distearyl dimethyl ammonium chloride, which makes the clay dispersible in oils and organic solvents. It functions as a viscosity controller and stabiliser in oil-based and water-in-oil formulations, preventing pigment settling and improving the texture and water resistance of products.
